The 3G iPhone is hot property: almost a year on from its initial release the gadget is still generating substantial media buzz and controversy from its fans/haters. Apple are about to step up a gear and release the new version: the 3g iPhone.
Apart from being compatible with 3g (if it were not then the name would be a little misleading) the 3g iPhone will be reduced from 11.7m in thickness to a mere 9.2mm; it will also come with either 8 gigabytes or 16 gigabytes of memory. What is really interesting is the fact that Apple (and its chosen carrier AT&T) may well be choosing to slash up to $200 off the price of the 3g iPhone if customers agree to a two year contract.
The price cut of the 3g iPhone will be viewed with some suspicion by current owners and the question has to be asked whether or not this is another gaff by the Apple marketing team. When a price drop was suddenly announced a cut in the iPhone’s price last year, leaving many people who recently bought the gadget just a little peeved.
