Sarah Palin’s life has not been without controversy. In fact Sarah Palin’s life just seems to thrive on controversy. From the Bridge to Nowhere where she acquitted herself flawlessly to the recent ‘troopergate’ controversy surrounding the dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan where, arguably, she hasn’t fared so well. Oh, then there is the small matter of her daughter’s pregnancy announced soon after McCain asked her to be his running mate. Yes, these things seem to follow Sarah Palin around.
A keen hunter – she used to go moose hunting with her father before school – Sarah Palin once again won headlines when she introduced a $150 bounty for every wolf shot from a helicopter. This seemingly arbitrary reward was a result of a drive to keep the previously dwindling moose and caribou populations up.
All this controversy has not been to her detriment, though, and stunning polling results in 2007 led to Sarah Palin being named as America’s most popular Governor: a stunning achievement when you consider that she is the state’s first female Governor and the only one ever to have been born after Alaska became a full State. This former beauty queen certainly is one very interesting lady.
