Phuket bars play huge part in the resort’s nightlife. There are literally hundreds of bars spread about and they really start to get lively late in the evening. Phuket bars normally include an inside and an outside seating area, with the latter encroaching on the pavement and ensuring accommodation for between 20 and 30 guests.

In each of the bars you may see a number of incredibly attractive local girls. Some may genuinely be locals out to have fun in the evening. More likely is that they are encouraged by the bar owners to be there; these girls are the bait to the Western men.

The girls that spend in the evening in Phuket bars are, in many senses, experienced hustlers. Men may mistake them for prostitutes but usually this is not the case. Others mistake the girls for genuine locals that just happen to be interested in them. This is usually not the case either!

Phuket bars are great places to chill out and have lots of fun. The girls in the bars are there, mainly, to have fun too; keep them in perspective, though, and don’t start imagining that they’re something that they are not.
