Downloading free music is fun, of this there can be no doubt. So when a free filesharing application like Ares Destiny rears its head everyone is a winner. Aren’t they? Well, not exactly. Ares Destiny has some rather large skeletons in its metaphorical closet.
Ares Destiny is, on the face of it, a free filesharing application that will help you to download and share your favorite music. So far so good. The website, download process and installation of the software are all very nicely done, and since Ares Destiny is based on the famous Ares platform it all works well when it has finally loaded. The interface is bland but functional, and up until the point when the advertisements start popping out of nowhere you may be feeling pretty pleased with yourself.
Advertisements? Well yes, unfortunately. Those releasing Ares Destiny decided that it would be best to package it with the rather nefarious Dealio ad-serving software. Although Dealio is advertised as a shopping comparison toolbar it has been recognized internet-wide as being an invasive and persistent piece of spyware.
Ares Destiny is inextricably linked with this monster so don’t think you’re getting around that so easily. If you find a way to get it off your computer then please let us know!
This is all such a shame, because without it Ares Destiny would definitely be a piece of software that would have helped so many people.
